What's the difference between paraphrasing and plagiarism?

I'm worried about accidentally plagiarizing in my essays. I understand I need to paraphrase, but I'm not sure where the line is. Example from my work: Original: "Climate change poses significant threats to global biodiversity." My version: "Global biodiversity faces serious risks due to climate change." Is this acceptable paraphrasing or too close to the original?
