Networking tips for Sciences students?
I understand that networking is crucial for career success in Sciences, but I'm not sure how to build professional connections effectively. As an introverted person, I find networking events intimidating and don't know how to approach professionals in my field. I've attended a few career fairs and industry events, but I often feel awkward starting conversations or following up with contacts. I'm also unsure about how to maintain relationships and provide value to my network. What networking strategies have worked best for you? How do you approach professionals at events, maintain relationships over time, and leverage your network for opportunities? Best internship opportunities for Engineering students?
I'm a Engineering student entering my third year and I'm eager to gain practical experience through internships. However, I'm not sure where to look or what types of opportunities would be most beneficial for my career development. I've been browsing job boards and company websites, but I'm overwhelmed by the options and unsure which internships would provide the best learning experience. I'm also concerned about the application process and what companies are looking for in interns. Could anyone share their internship experiences in Engineering-related fields? What companies or organizations offer the best programs? What should I focus on in my applications, and how can I make the most of the internship experience?
